A campaign which highlights a rags-to-riches story whilst also being provocative to the fact that women can also play football.

Star of Brazil.

Project Title IKON

Role Creative Designer

Year 2019

Challenge: To produce a visual narrative of my partner based off a key word. (The key word being Baller).

Insight: Women’s football has gained a surge of popularity over the past few years with there being a 54% increase in the amount of women playing since the year 2017. However, there are some who are still stuck in the past. The campaign highlights the rags to riches story of Fernanda Esperansa and her journey to changing the women's game and holding her countries hopes in her hand, whilst also being provocative to the fact that women can also play football.

Designer Comments: The keyword, I got was the word ‘Baller’ and being a football fan my mind instantly went to Football and women’s game. I chose Brazil because of the Joga Bonito Playstyle and Joga TV by Nike. My Poster depicts my friend as an Up-and-coming female professional footballer who has signed for Arsenal. (My favourite team btw). The poster depicts her wearing the retro 1999-2000 Gold Kit, while the 2019 bruised Banana Kit is used as a backdrop, she is holding the Brazil Emblem in her hand, showing she is holding her county’s hopes and women's hopes alike in her hand and the statement is a play on the fact that you do not need balls to be a footballer.
